README.TXT
KEENWHA is where I build things I want to exist, and take them all the way: the idea, the name, the brand, the screens, the code, the servers and the launch.
Most of it starts on one campus, because that’s where the problems are close enough to touch. Halo makes you open a tab per class, so I built one calendar for all of them. Campus dating deserved something warmer. Students need small jobs; collectors need fair prices; and sometimes the right answer is a game about stealing card packs.
I care about entrepreneurship, technology, design and the craft of building products people actually use, and about what happens after launch.
How I work
Five rules,
learned the hard way
Ship in versions
Small, numbered releases, each tested and written up. Halo Global Calendar went through more than fifty of them.
See the release log →The brand is part of the product
A name, a mark, a palette and a voice are features. Canyon Love’s butterfly is two faces turned toward each other.
See the identity →Test on the real thing
Real devices, real Halo, real trackpads. When a bug only shows up in someone’s hands, record their hands.
The pull-tab story →Private by default
Extension data that never leaves the browser, verified-student sign-up, stats with small groups hidden, and nothing posted without a human yes.
Human-approved automation →Build the tools that build the thing
Generators, simulators, probes and ad compositors. The second project always goes faster.
